Wa All Stars kick off the new football season officially today, Sunday, with the traditional curtain-raiser at the Tamale Stadium pitting their strength against Bechem United.
And the season's opener will see some changes in both camps as the Blues retain Enos Adipah while Bechem promote former Okwawu United defender Osei Wire following the parting of ways with Manuel Zaccharias.
It will be the first time the Tamale grounds will be hosting the season's opener which will kick off at 15:00GMT and live on all StarTimes networks.
Both sides will be competing their first ever season opener after storming past established giants to the league title and FA Cup respectively last season.
The Blues have all to play for as they seek to return to winning ways after two high-profile pres-season defeats to Al Hilal of Sudan and then against Saudi side, Al Taawoun.
Much would be expected of the champions as the Ghana football season await a good spectacle ahead of the opening league games.
Bechem have been very busy in the transfer market, following the signing of former Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure and full-back Ibrahim Bashiru from Dreams FC.
Despite little activity on the transfer market since the window opened Wa All Stars has an almost settled look with a number of new additions who do not come the same profiles their opponents have their squad but are quietly confident.
